PRICING

The basis for most antimony pricing is the London Metal Bulletin (LMB) Rotterdam price for 5 metric ton lots (2204.623 pounds) of 99.6% (grade II) antimony metal generally with less than 0.1% lead, less than 0.075%
arsenic, and less than 50 ppm selenium. It is quoted on a “high” and “low” daily basis and on a monthly
“average” basis. A price of $17,637.00 would be equivalent to $8.00 per pound.

Oxide ore, sulfide concentrates, and “crude” antimony oxide are often quoted on a “metric ton unit” (mtu) basis
for the contained antimony content. An "mtu" is 1% of a metric ton or 22.046 pounds. For example, if a
40% antimony oxide hand sorted lump ore was quoted at $17.00 per mtu, a metric ton of the ore would be worth
$680.00 and a pound of the contained metal would be worth $.77.

Finished oxide and metal are generally quoted on a U.S. dollar per pound basis.

World Resources:  U.S. resources of antimony are mainly in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, and Nevada.  Principle identified world resources are in Bolivia, China, Mexico, Russia, Thailand, and South Africa.

Domestic Production and Use:  There was no antimony mine production in the United States in 2009.  Primary antimony metal and oxide was produced by one company in Montana, using  foreign feedstock.  The estimated distribution of antimony uses was as follows: flame retardants, 40%; transportation, including batteries, 22%; chemicals, 14%; ceramics and glass,
11%; and others, 13%.
